Applications: HYCF Cable Fault Locator can test all types power cable (voltage class 1KV~35KV) , local cable, FM communication cable, coaxial cable, short circuit, earth, high resistance leakage, high resistance flashover fault of the metal overhead lines, and the broken & poor contact of the cable. It also can test the length of the cable and the speed of the electric wave on the cable.

1 Character impendence
The character impendence is defined as the impendence of the whole power cable which is depends on the structure of cable only. The value of character impendence has no connection with the length of cable

The cable is open at this fault point. It is the end of the cable
3 Short circuit to earth fault
The cable is connected to earth direct at the fault point of cable
4 Low resistance connected to earth fault
The cable is connected to earth in a low resistance at the fault point
5 High resistance connected to earth fault
The cable has a low insulation which cannot support the continue running at the rated voltage of cable at the fault point
