Method of Usage
1. Prepration
Note: When you use the instrument for the first time, it is asked to need charging 6 hours otherwise the instrument may does not work normally. Charging method see chapter of Battery in the below relevant content.
1) Please cut power supply and remove any outgoing connctions to DUT (Device under test) before testing, and DUT will be shorted to ground for discharging 1min, DUT of larger capacity should be discharging at least 2min in order to avoid electric shock and impact of the discharge measurements.
2) With a dry soft cloth to wipe clean the dirt surface, if necessary, wash with gasoline before fouling the surface of the casing in order to eliminate surface leakage current of test results.
3) High Voltage testing wires (red) put into position (3)-LINE, hook the other end connected high voltage conductor, testing line (green) put into position (2) -GUARD, the other end to be connected to the HV retaining ring of DUT to eliminate the impact of surface leakage current (see "GUARD" description in related content), the other black test lead put into the earth terminal (1) - EARTH, the other end is connected to the shell of DUT or to the ground.
Note: In order to avoid overload, the wiring of GUARD is strictly prohibited to connecting with LINE (short-circuit).
